-The Petrified Forest-
The Petrified Forest is located in Northeastern Arizona.
It features one of the world's largest,
most colorful concentrations
of petrified woods.
Above is a close-up of an eons old
petrified tree trunk.
The trunk looks as if it was cut down recently.
There are many large and small pieces of
petrified wood strewn about.
If you pick them up and try to remove them
be pepared to pay a hefty fine.
