Pen & Ink Drawings
Limited Edition Prints- Numbered and Signed by the Artist
About the artist
Dave Rouzer specializes in preserving fading vistas,
particularly barns, railroad scenes and other wooden structures,
through pen & ink drawings. The subject matter comes from many
locations throughout the U.S., first captured by a series of
photos and sketches. The complete drawing is then done from
these references and memory.
With no formal art education other than a high school drafting class,
Dave started drawing out of a desire to produce something unique,
and a love for his primary subject matter. Traveling has provided
him with a wealth of subject matter from many places throughout
the country.
Each of the drawings represents the detail as seen by his eye,
and his desire to produce as faithfully as possible some of the
disappearing scenes in America.

Rio Grande Ballast Car
Blue Ribbon - Indiana State Fair

Once the primary method of maintaining the railroad right of way,
the ballast car was used to carry gravel (ballast)
wherever needed to repair and replace roadbed.
Once in place, the "gandy dancers" would spread gravel
where needed, by using the levers to open the bottom and side doors.
Slowly moving the car as the gravel was dumping, along with
sheer muscle power, would place the gravel where needed.
Reposing in the Cumbres & Toltec Railway yards at Chama New Mexico,
some are apparently still used on occasion.
The price of the "Rio Grande Ballast Car" print is $30.00.
Please add $2.00 for First Class Postage.
A 16" X 20" Frame with a mat opening of 12" X 15" is suggested.

Parke City Ore Wagon

Standing predominant in the main street of Parke City,
Colorado, the wagon attracts attention as a representative
of the gold days.
Although Parke County still has active gold mines,
the wagon, and Parke City (now Fairplay) serves as a
reminder of a previous era. The old Parke City section
(privately owned) can be visited and is presented so that a
real sense of time past can be felt.
The price of the "Parke City Ore Wagon" print is $25.00.
Please add $2.00 for First Class Postage.
A 16" X 20" Frame with a mat opening of

Storm's Barn

Located in northern Blackford County Indiana, this barn is reminiscent
of the Sears Roebuck mail order barns.
Having a masonry base with wooden upper structure and rounded
roof line, its' construction was designed to withstand years
of weather.
Now used primarily for storage, Storms barn stands in a weed
covered lot at an intersection of county roads, somewhat
forgotten and bypassed by time.
The price of the "Storm's Barn" print is $15.00.
Please add $2.00 for First Class Postage.
A 16" X 20" Frame with a mat opening of
10 1/2 X 14" is suggested.
