Lentils- a german comfort food
1 package lentils
3 carrots
1 tsp. salt
6 tbsp. of balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup flour, mixed with 1/2 cup water
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. soup base
Wash the lentils in a sieve.
Put them in a pot and add enough water to cover them by 1".
Bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium- low. Cook for 15 minutes.
Try some- if they are not soft, cook them a little longer.
Don't let them get too soft or they'll be mushy.

Add the flour, water mixture and stir over low heat
until it has thickened.
Season to taste with the vinegar, salt, pepper and soup base.

Serve with Saiten Würstchen, Smoked Butt or Roasted Ham.
