*Correspondence about B Battery*
Dear Ed:
It may interest you to know that the Bravo Battery in Großsachsenheim
is now a beautiful meadow with no signs whatsoever that a missile site
or any military installation ever existed on that spot.
I was an MP in Kornwestheim with B. Co. 385th MP Btn from 1966 to 1968
and I have a good German friend who lives in Großsachsenheim who I visit often.
I stood in the middle of that beautiful meadow just 3 mos. ago.
You may also want to know that Wilkins Barracks and Luddendorf are now new housing sites.
Respectfully,
Michael Rosalie

Dear Michael,
Thank you for the update on our Battery site in Großsachsenheim (now just Sachsenheim)
and Wilkins Barracks. I visited Germany in 1992, and was fortunate enough to be allowed
to tour Wilkins Barracks with the permission of the Duty Officer at the MP company
in Wilkins Barracks. My wife and I also visited the Gross Sachsenheim site,
which still had the various buildings in a very sad state of repair.
Although we will miss the site, I'm certain the beautiful meadow restores the area
to what it was before the site was built, and it is certainly a tremendous improvement
over the partially destroyed buildings.
I trust you and your family had a joyous holiday season and wish you the best
in the new year of 2002!
Regards,
Ed (Olivares)
